HDR HDMI Switcher

DaveKerk

Hi all!!

Just purchased a new Samsung with HDR10+ support. Due to my setup, I have an HDMI switcher and an HDMI splitter. If the switcher/splitter supports HDR (which is advertised to do so) will it also support HDR10+? I'm not certain if the level of HDR is signal based or display based.

Thanks in advance

if the switch, splitter, source and tv all have HDMI 2.0a or better it will allow the HDR setting to be available, the other HDR "standards" HDR10, vesa400, 500, 1000 etc are all based on the peak brightness of the display and not the signal coming in (assuming the source is running 8bit+FRC or more commonly named 10-bit colour support).

The best gaming PC is the PC you like to game on, how you like to game on it
