windowsxp installing problems

I have a very old pc  that uses the phoenix bios i want to install windows xp on it but i dont want to buy an extra optical drive(because my old one is broken)

So i want to install it by usb i used wintoflash to format and intall win xp to the flash drive but when i boot up the pc instead of saying missing nltdr(or something similar to the word) it just says the letter j.HELP me install windows XP!!

The only Solution I know is Plop Bootmanager with that you can boot from USB-Devices its pretty good for old pcs. I think you can pack it on to a floppy disk. Put it in your old machine use the bootmanager to chose boot from usb drive. USB drive should be plugged in directly to your mainboard. Here a link : http://www.plop.at/en/bootmanager/index.html

If you have no floppy disk I would say grab an optical drive.
