Weird Hard Disk Noises

Hello guys. I'm just curious, my 320gb Seagate starts making weird scratching noises after I installed a new fan. I removed the fan and thw noise is gone, then after a while it appeared again. Windows went BD when the noise occurs, fixing the drive, and then the noise is gone. Anybody know what happened?
