Yeah, that's the one

Yeah, the drive they show there (pg. 17) is M-key NVMe, 2280, etc - standard. I'm not sure how the Optane works to be honest, is it an Intel H10? I only see one socket and a NAND + Optane combined drive would probably be something like the H10. I see people talking on Best Buy about it being a hybrid drive, unless the SSD is 2.5" SATA of course.

UPDATE: i found this video from hp support. It shows how to replace the drive and it is indeed M keyed

UPDATE 2: so this is kind of a plot twist, the storage configuration states that the laptop has 512gb+32 optane memory. But it does not mean a 512gb sata ssd + a 32gb optane memory module on the m.2 slot.

Intel optane memory management software states there is just one drive installed, and looking this drive model number comes up to be an H10 optane module, this is a hybrid nvme ssd that contains both flash storage, and optane technology. The conclusion is that my only expansion slot available is a sata 3 port. This laptop does support m.2 nvme ssd. The slot is M keyed.

Hello, i've encountered myself in a little struggle trying to find any info about this.

I bought this laptop model HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 16-a0xxx

 https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-pavillion-16-1-gaming-laptop-intel-core-i5-8gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1660-ti-512gb-ssd-32gb-optane-shadow-black/6409145.p?skuId=6409145&ref=212&loc=1&extStoreId=1498&ref=212&loc=BM01&gclid=CjwKCAjwkJj6BRA-EiwA0ZVPVgTa6V9eUtMsieTCH_08bTDAjFRQQcLEzAn-umlKfQV9acg9_ZccbRoCJ58QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

it came with 8gb ram, upraded to 16, no problem.

Now the issue is the storage, 512gb ssd included + 32gb optane module.

My plan is to swap the optane for a 1tb Silicon Power m.2 nvme ssd

The thing is that the ssd specifies the next: To support a Silicon Power PCIe SSD, the system must have an M.2 connector with only an M key. The Silicon Power PCIe SSD does not have a B notch and therefore, the B key on the SSD connector will prevent it from being inserted.

Optane drive uses a B+M key. So, logically the m.2 slot is B+M i suppose.

The question is, will i be able to switch the optane module for the nvme ssd even though, optane uses B+M and the ssd uses M key

No. You'll need a B+M drive, which as far as I'm aware is only SATA SSDs. No NVMe.

now i think it is an H10 because it shows an empty slot on the optane memory and storage management
