Hi guys, I recently upgraded my computer and I just noticed this tonight.

The GPU lights and fans are on, as well as the PSU fan.

Actually I just checked it again and the fans for the GPU are off now, but all of the lights on the GPU are on.

The PSU fan is still on.

What in the world is going on? So marvelous new malware?

CPU: Intel i7 10700k

MOBO: Gigabyte z490 PRO AX

Ram: G. skill Ripjaws 4x16gb 3200mhz

GPU: Asus GTX 1080

PSU: EVGA 850 T2

I turned it back on, and back off, and it is still doing the same thing. The monitor is off.

please help

Was the upgrade a new GPU?

If the GPU is new it might just always have it’s RGB on, if it has dual VBIOS then flick the switch to use the other VBIOS.

New CPU, Ram, Motherboard, and PSU

I don’t know what would cause this then, try reinstalling the RGB control software for your graphics card.

I will tomorrow, I just flipped the switch on the PSU.

Thanks for your help!

I mean the switch on your graphics card, it might not even have dual bios so it might not have a switch.

Last night I flipped the power switch on the PSU so I could go to bed.

I just flipped the switch and only the two leds by the power cords for the GPU came on. (This seemed normal).

Then I pressed the main power switch to turn the computer on and all of the lights on the GPU came on and the PSU fan is on. Nothing else. So same thing as last night when I turned it off.

I just had to hold the power switch for a long time to get the computer to actually turn on.

I’m gonna look for that switch on my gpu that you were talking about.

Thanks for your help

I took the GPU out.

The PSU is staying on.
To fully turn off the computer I have to flip the switch on the PSU.

To turn it back on I have to do the following.

1. flip switch

2. Press power button and the psu fan comes on.

3. Press the power button again and the GPU lights come on

4. press the power button again and nothing happens.

5. Hold the power button for about 10 seconds. Something clicks in the PSU.

6. Press the power button, the computer finally turns on.

What in the world is going on?
