Hi all,I'm trying to determine odd behavior or if it's normal and I'm just to picky but anyway. When I cold start my PC once windows is loaded and all then I open up a game in steam or cinebench r20 it can take 5 to 15 seconds before the loading splash pops up now we're it gets weirdo is if I close down the app and reload it,the loading is practically immediate, at first I thought it was due to the information still in the ram but even if Im doing something elts for an hour then reload the app it's still immediate, the only time I have this loading delay is right from cold start, any ideas? The only similarities between the apps is most that give me a delay are installed to my 500gig WD m.2 ssd, bios set to default or with my OC settings don't seem to change anything except the issue is more noticeable with the bios set to default, adds a couple seconds...

Cpu - 3700x

Mobo - x470 strix f

Ram - Corsair RGB pro 3200 CL14

OS drive - Samsung Evo 240gig(formatted three times)

Second drive - 6year old WD 500gig mechanical

Third drive - M.2 WD 500 gig ssd

Gpu - XFX RX 5600xt Raw

~Extra L3 cache is exciting, every time you load up a new game or program you never know what your going to get, will it perform like a 5700x or are we beating the 14900k today? 😅~

As in, it only happens right after you boot your PC, or only happens the first time you load the game/app even after being booted for a while?

If the former, just sounds like Windows is performing background tasks when you boot, and the CPU is busy.

Even if the PC has been booted for a while, I can turn it on leave it for a while even like an hour and I'll still get this delay. I have to load the game or app once then after it's been loaded once the delay is gone, and it doesn't seem to be specific to an app, I've gotten this with games , and other apps and benchmarks, like cinebench r20 delays but cinebench r15 loads immediately

The only real difference I can see is the apps that delay are mostly on my M.2 drive, anything on my old Samsung Evo ssd sata drive loads normal and everything on my mechanical drive load as expected

Guess this will remain a mystery...I wonder if moving the drive to a different m.2 slot would change anything? From what I understand the second slot runs through the chipset while the other one runs through the CPU although for a storage/game drive I didn't think this would matter
