So beyond a few other posts i have of stuff going wrong, here is one.  I run a Display port cable from my 1070(drivers updated) to my monitor for video, and an HDMI from the GPU to my AVR for audio. Its worked fine in the past. It would technically detect the AVR as a monitor but also play the sounds from my speakers properly.   I am using a new Mobo. Crosshair 8 formula from Asus, (the only change) it detects the AVR, cool. I click on it to add display.  I click apply.  NOPE.  resolution is now also like 1024 x whatever.   Umm.. let me click back to 4k. Apply.    NOPE.  stays at 1024.   So its not adding the display correctly and its messing up my resolution now too.  I swapped ports on the back of the gpu but no change.
