Budget (including currency): 1000€

Country: Germany

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Casual Gaming

Okay so this is for a friend of mine, i used to do this completely by myself but i am no longer in the loop.

He finally decided to upgrade from the old laptop he got from his parents to a desktop PC, so he will have 0 parts to begin with.

The Budget has to include the PC, a Mouse/Keyboard and a 24" Monitor, since he doesnt have much space and It is only for 1080p gaming, but maybe 144hz would be nice for the many games he plays that are not very hardware requiring and run on high fps.

There is absolutely no focus on esthetics whatsovever, just trying to get the best pc for max 700.

Okay great, thanks, then i will use this as a baseline! I also read on someone elses post there might be new hardware comming soon, anything in the price range worth waiting for?

they usually release the high end gpus first and roll out lower end models months later. so no, it's highly unlikely that anything in the 200-300 dollar/euro range will pop up soon, nor will the high end releases affect prices much.

Hi I'm in a similar position to you - been doing lots of research for a £1000 build with all peripherals. I'm not an expert but have been learning from people on the forum.

One general tip - always quote or @ the person you're replying to, otherwise they won't be notified.

The MSI B450 suggested by @VeganJoy looks to be compatible with Ryzen 3000 processors out of the box (my German is rusty so I'd just check that on the Amazon listing yourself!) so nothing to worry about there. Your friend would have to flash the BIOS to make it compatible with the next gen AMD processors expected at the end of the year, but that's something to deal with when they want to upgrade. You'd have to buy a B550 to avoid this issue, and they're much more expensive in the UK anyway so personally I'm getting a 450.

Also from what I've seen the 5600XT is a great card and there aren't any stability issues right now. It lacks ray tracing but delivers really good performance.

Just one thing to consider - NVIDIA has announced an event for 1 September to reveal the next gen GPUs. It's unlikely that they'll announce the next gen 2060 yet, (the 2060 was released in Jan 2019 following the 2080 in September 2018) but you never know. If you're not desperate to buy might be worth waiting for the two weeks just to see what's announced...
