basically, at university I want to go on to study maths and Economics. I also want to carry on with my hobby of music production.

 

I need a laptop which I can handwrite on, which is also powerful enough for music production. This is so that I can take notes for maths and draw some economics diagrams etc.

 

My budget is around £1000. Can be a bit more expensive.

 

Main requirements :

Thin and light

Comfortable typing and writing experience (so also a good stylus if it doesn't come with the laptop) 

Decent power and battery life that'll last through a school day

I agree. A Surface Book 3 would be ideal, but it's fairly well outside your set price range. Starts at $1399 USD.

Oh. I was thinking the opposite way in exchange rate. Right. Well, that might be a valid option then, assuming the base price isn't inflated in the Canadian market.
