Group policy for sharepoint

Does anyone know if it's possible to apply GPO to share point e.g. download certain folders to certain computers or remover permissions?

My sharepoint admin says "it's possible", but doesn't offer any other advice

I visit a sharepoint forum, they'd have better info

I actually spoke to Microsoft and they're 99% sure it's not possible to set user group policies the only option avail. is to set security policies
