Do you know where I can find a 5700XT for that price of $400? I have a good feeling that I won't be able to upgrade my build for a while because I'll be too busy and financially-tight going into PA school in the next couple of years, so I like the idea of being future proof.

Both are in stock as well which is good. Use PC part picker if you're ever trying to find good pricing

Budget (including currency): $300, maybe $400 although I would prefer not to.

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Streaming, Video editing, and just work/school essentials

Other details: I have already replaced most of my parts, but I still have my R9 390. I want to switch it out because it is too outdated. TIA!

5600XT/2060/5700/5700XT are your options. If you want to be the most future proof, the 5700XT would be best, and a model like the Gaming OC or Pulse for $399 would be excellent. Keeping it under $300, something like a mid range 5600XT, like the sapphire pulse for $290 is good. Could also look for a cheaper 5700 around $300, however you will probably have to pay more to get a decently cool and quiet model, by which point you may as well get the XT version. From Nvidia there is the option of the 2060 KO from EVGA but performance is a tiny bit worse than the 5600XT and the cooler ain't great. (And ray tracing will not be a great experience at this level so I wouldn't buy it for that)

Edit: just to add the 2060 does have the NVENC encoder which you may find beneficial when streaming

I think they may have fixed the issues with BIOS updates but the XFX versions weren't great when released. Try the pulse or gaming OC
