Media Server and NAS

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: This is intended to be a Plex media server that is also open to the outside. Also just a NAS as well.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): All i have really is an old 8700K lying around from my last upgrade. I know i'll probably need a decent amount of RAM, probably 32GB for safe measure, anything after that I'm not too sure of. I normally just use my PC as the home's NAS and media server but given the times I think it's time i finally build myself a dedicated PC for this use case. I also have an 8TB external drive that i've been using as the storage for all media and network related items.

 

*EDIT* For the media server side of things will or should i get a video card and have powerful does it need to be? I have a 980ti lying around but i know those are power hungry so if i need one i'd like to get something a little more practical.

In addition to the I7-8700K and GTX 980 Ti do you have any other parts available, e.g case, motherboard, etc?

Well since then i headed to micro center and have already built my server. Thanks though.
