AMD today at Mobile World Congress announced the retail availability of a new BlueStacks dual-OS Android solution, optimized for AMD APUs, with expected consumer availability in the second half of 2014. I don't get it. Bluestack has been out for ages. How is this news?

Bluestacks is more of a virtual enviorment within the host OS, while it seems like this new "OS" integrates Android into Windows.

Also, It seems Google and MS have been doing a lot together lately...

The key here is that AMD is bringing it to retail, which is available pre-installed when you buy a device.

Probably much like the Asus Transformer Book Duet.

Exactly, most typical consumers aren't tech savvy and very few know what the actual difference between ios, android and windows so if you have these devices on store shelves it will sell like hotcakes.
