I'm having some issues with two of my webcams, a Microsoft Lifecam Studio and a Cinema model.

When plugged in one at a time in the usb hub, the only resolution i can select in OBS is 160x120, but they work fine when plugged directly into a usb 2 or 3 port. Thinking it was a bandwidth issue (as it was an old powered usb2 hub) i picked up a powered 3.0 hub, to no avail. Same issue.

Other peripherals such as the elgato stream deck works just fine.

It's a test setup for moving my streaming pc to a 19" rack in a big closet. Is it a lifecam issue? Other option would be to route cables through the wall directly from the usb ports-

This usually has to do with the USB controller, or lack thereof, in most cheap usb hubs. If you need a hub for this purpose try to find a hub with individual controlers.

At me or quote me, I want to hear your opinion.

Hopefully anything I say is factually correct. Sorry for any mistakes in advanced.
