Recently redid my setup.  I have been playing with different dual monitor combos. Dual ASUS ROG 32 curved.  Great for gaming, sucked for work.  I tried Dual ASUS VG27AQ. Good performance, but not great. Colors were washed out and not very bright.

I bit the bullet and bought two Acer xb3 27k 4k monitors. Holy cow they are awesome.  I got one refurbished and one new.  The new one had such bad backlight bleed I returned it.  They were sold out.

So now after a few days with 1 4k monitor I find myself wishing I had a second monitor for work.

Looking for opinions.

I play some games, mainly driving sims with dedicated wheel seat and all that i push up to my desk.  a single 27" sucks for that, dual is good, the bezel does not bother me.

Should I get another 27 in 4k and irace at 2k resolution and work in 4k, or get an x34 as my second monitor.  The price is the same, unless I can find another refirb xb3?  Any one have a setup similar to mine?

I am open to other suggestions as well.  I can still return my xb3 and get something else too.

Thank you

I know that having 2 different monitors would bother the heck out of me, and its the main reason I'm still on 27" 1080P IPS panels. I don't wanna spend the money on TWO good 4K monitors at a time, and I've been burned in the past with even waiting 8 weeks to buy a second one and having them disappear.

One suggestion, maybe a 32:9 1440P monitor instead? The AOC one is still $1000, but its 120hz, FreeSync and essentially 2 27" 1440P screens in one.

I originally went to Micro Center with the intention of buying that exact one.  It has however been out of stock locally.  Then got caught up in the quality of 4k and never looked back.  Working with text in 4k should be the main selling point.  Anyone that is working with databases or Salesforce. should be considering 4k.

But that is interesting. I work more than play, and I am not sure that is the best for work.  If I just were a gamer, no doubt I would own that or a 3 monitor setup.  I do not know anyone that actually owns a 49" display.  Need to do some research on that.
