Heyy, I just got a I5-4460 :) but the bench is showing that its base frequency is 3.6ghz, however, turbo isn't going over 1ghz:( this means that it's performing
way below expectations in around the 13th percentile. Any thoughts?

thermal throttling?

Which MBO? This often happens when the bios doesn't support a cpu, when there's a bent pin on the socket, when the cooler doesn't sit right, and so on.

Check in that order.

Thank you so much! It just so happened that it was a problem with the heatsinkwasnt actually making contact with the cpu and thermal paste:) strange though I'd thought that alignments were usually standard. First time using this platform and its amazing how quickly people offer help! Thank you XD

-> Moved to CPUs, Motherboards and Memory

Good that you got things working. Your numbers are bit off as the max Turbo for that CPU is only 3.4GHz and base clock is 3.2Ghz.
