My microphone doesn't work

I recently built my first pc and have run into one problem. I can't get the microphone to work. Two different options show up in sound settings under input, but no one works. It's either stereo mix or microphone, and when I select stereo mix it detects the sound playing in my headphones, but nothing else. the option microphone detects nothing. The audio is working fine.

I have tried changing drivers, input device, check in BIOS to make sure audio was on, but I dont know how to fix it.

Is there a way I can fix this microphone issue?

Stereo mix is your computer audio, it is not an input device. You missed the most important bit of information in your specs -- what microphone you are using. Assuming you're using one with a 3.5mm jack, make sure that you have the latest Realtek drivers from https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B450-TOMAHAWK-MAX#down-driver&Win10 64.

I sorry, I totally forget to include that I am using the razer Kraken pro v2. I have tried installing the drivers, but it still doesn't work

try using the 3.5mm jack on the motherboard instead of the front of the case, there might be something broken with your front panel

I tried that but it still doesn't work. Tried plugging it in both mic and line in, but neihter worked

Do you have anything else you can test the headset on to be sure it is working?
