Thank you for informing me about it,i think it will be better to go to 3200 i guess

Yes stick with the motherboard and go for 3200mhz ram then use xmp because you will get the ram at around 3000mhz and xmp should boost the room to its advertised speeds if you want 3600mhz ram go for an x570 motherboard that should get you 3600mhz ram and be stable for your needs

Hello,

I have currently started the following setup

AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 3.8 GHz 6-Core Processor

ASRock B450 Steel Legend ATX AM4 Motherboard

I have to buy RAM

Will the motherboard support 3600 mhz RAM?

I have read somewhere that matisse processors support up to 3200?

Can anyone guide me?

Thanks

Current system build :

Samsung Evo 840 1 TB , Seagate Desktop HDD.15 4TB 64MB SATA-3 3.5" Internal Hard Disk Drive ST4000DM000 , corsair dominator platinum 16 GB , Msi GD65 Gaming , Intel Core I5 Processor 4670K@3.4Ghz , Thermaltake S21 , MSI GTX770 Twin Frozer Graphic Card , Corsair Tx650M PSU

You might have to update to a newer bios to get these timings of 3600mhz on your ram and use xmp to get the advertised Timings but it might not be Stable at 3600mhz so it might only go down to 3200mhz-3400mhz to be safe

Just be prepared for if it isn’t stable at 3600mhz if it isn’t 3200mhz will still be sufficient for most game today

If you want you can always go for the b450 tomahawk max that should support 3600mhz ram speeds and also be stable if you would before it’s an all round decent motherboard to.

X570 Preferably an Asus mobo or gigabyte motherboards  will be more expensive but could get your 3600mhz or higher but if your tight on money then go for b450 tomohawk max both will give your 3600mhz ram and higher if you want to overclock but that’s preference for a lot of games 3200mhz and 3600mhz both are sufficient for games these days
