Hi,

I have set the XMP profile in BIOS to Profile 1 but there appears to be no difference to the XMP being disabled as you can see from the screenshots.

Please can you help me understand why this is? The only setting I changed is XMP profile, two options, disabled or Profile 1. Do I need to do anything else to enable the higher RAM frequency?

This is my RAM information: https://www.kingston.com/dataSheets/HX424C15FB3K2_16.pdf

My motherboard: https://www.gigabyte.com/uk/Motherboard/GA-Z270P-D3-rev-10/sp#sp

CPU: Intel i7 7700k

Also I am considering replacing my RAM with - Viper Steel Series DDR4 16GB (2 x 8GB) 3866MHz Performance Memory Kit - PVS416G386C8K. However I don't want to change it if I am not going to be able to get the maximum benefit when using the XMP profile.

Thanks.

Thanks for your advice, do you know why I can't get 3866mhz? My motherboard specification states:

Support for DDR4 3866(O.C.) / 3800(O.C.) / 3733(O.C.) / 3666(O.C.) / 3600(O.C.) / 3466(O.C.) / 3400(O.C.) / 3333(O.C.) / 3300(O.C.) / 3200(O.C.) / 3000(O.C.) / 2800(O.C.) / 2666(O.C.) / 2400 / 2133 MHz memory modules

Extremely sorry bro .I rechecked it supports ddr4 3866mhz

But the fact is after 3200mhz there is very less performance gain

If u can get 3200mhz CAS 12 or 13 cheaper

Then go with this
