Minecraft RTX, Graphics Card vs CPU

I’m planning on getting Minecraft RTX when it come out. Making my first computer for it and I plan to have an RTX 2080 Ti graphics card. Does the CPU matter for this? If so which CPU would work best with a RTX 2080 Ti. Mine main game I plan to run would be Minecraft with RTX. Although I do also plan to try and do some VR later down the road. Please give me some feedback and options!

if you're spending $1200 on a gpu then get a 3900x or something
