Hello, I have a razer stealth 13 with the basic model. I can play games fine on it and it was a big upgrade from an old Lenovo idea pad, but in order to run most of my games (subnatica,tf2,csgo) at full settings, I need to run cortex so I dont lag. I was just wondering if it is harmful to my system to be unloading core processes and other things that cortex does. So, should I use it?

Is it harmful to your system to run software that tells Windows how processes should be prioritized? Ofc not. Your hardware is designed to be run at full utilization for 3-5 years. Cortex and other boosters do only software/OS level stuff. Prioritize processes, select which cores are used to run which stuff and so on. If anything, its better as CPU cores get equally loaded instead of 2 first ones being at full usage all the time.

Thank you. I didnt think that it was bad, I just got a big worried as I am not used to having a laptop worth more than 200 dollars and I want to last forever.

Laptops age fast for gaming use. As GPUs overall age in 3 years. Longest time I had laptop was 7 years, going from midrange gaming to barely worth using. If you can get 5 good years out of laptop, then its good laptop.
