I have had the issues for a year where backgrounds of apllications flicker. This is most notable in dark grey applications like Discord and XBOX app. Downloading a dark grey background also yields the same results.

The flickers is subtle but defiantly here.

I have tried numerous drivers, fresh windows install.

I have suspected my 1070 is not good, since I also have stuttering that nobody can solve.

I doubt it's your GPU

I think it's your monitor's color reproduction on darker ereas

The monitor is a Benq XL2411.

What can I do for that, is it normal? Also seems to get worse and better sometimes, so it isnt stable. For eaxmple the Xbox app was just flickering and now it isnt, ye the Picture of a dark grey screen still is.

It could be the cable if it isn't consistent but if it is anything it's either the monitor or the cable not the gpu

Could you elaborate, why couldn't it be the gpu?

Because if it was bad drivers bad power delivery etc. Anything that could cause it to not render or mis render anything it would do it in everything not just a specific color or brightness

What I dont understand is that it has stop flickering now completely on most application, but is VERY slightly flickering on the grey background now.

So why would it be so variable. Maybe the wires are warming up or something!?

Its annoying how it isn't stable, So I don't know what to purchase

Well as I said it is probably a bad color re production from the monitor (not a faulty panel ) it's just could be a TN or a lower end panel and if it is not the monitor it is the display cable
