microsoft edge browser in task manager

in task manager i see "Microsoft edge (17)" what does this means?

when i open new tab the number increases, so at first i thought it refers to the number of tabs opened, but i open only 5 tabs and it appears 17, and the power usage is very high

is this normal or am i in trouble?

That's normal. Modern browsers run at least one process per tab. That way, if a web page crashes, not everything shuts down. It's also why they consume so much RAM now.

so 17 process for 5 tab is normal?

There's not really a "normal", as it's entirely dependent on the pages you're visiting. It could be higher, or could be lower.

ok, so its not just about how many tab, but also what page is opened, am i right?

Yes. If a page has to load in other stuff, it can create another process. If you're concerned about resource management then I'd recommend installing Firefox and uBlock Origin.
