RTX 2080 super help

Hello everyone,

 

I'm a newbie here to the forums and to pc gaming in general and have recently bought an Alienware Aurora r9 i9 9900k with rtx 2080 super. I play a lot of Fortnite but am noticing my GPU is only achieving 20% when I'm playing but I'm not achieving a steady 240 fps on medium settings. I've heard my gpu should be utilising 99-100%? 

 

In addition I downloaded a new Nvidia driver yesterday and it has made my frames even more inconsistent sometimes dropping to as low as 50.

 

Can anyone shed some light on how I can achieve a higher utilisation on my gpu and anything I can do to fix it slightly?

Can you provide in-game stats of what's going on with your PC like a screnshot of your CPU and GPU usage ?
Your GPU is more than capable to run Fortnite on highest settings and it will almost never use 100% of the GPU to run the game.

Can you provide your full PC specs also as this could be maybe RAM bottleneck if you're single channel ?
Also when you have a high end PC lowering the settings will lower the usage and won't necessarily boost your FPS by a lot it will just reduce the input lag, which is of course a big thing if you're super competitive

Thanks for the prompt response I have added a few images of the in game stats and some of my pc specs from the dell website.  When you mention RAM bottleneck I can see my RAM % is higher than both my cpu and gpu?

 

Thats really useful to know that lowering the settings won't necessarily boost the fps but reduce input lag. 

 

Hopefully you can shed some light I wish I paid more attention in computing class now

Actually everything looks pretty good i see you have 234 FPS is that in-game or ?
