phone troubleshooting Samsung A70 charging issues

Hello everyone! 
I find myself in need of some assistance.
I purchased a Samsung A70 as a budget phone that just works but it has been my worst choice so far.

It came with a super short charging cable.It works fine, it was just too short to reach my desk so I purchased an Anker PowerLine Plus type C to type C.
When I plug the anker cable in the phone starts charging, switches over to fast charging and then rapidly stops charging and starts fast charging again.

Normally I would return the cable but the weird thing is this cable charges other phones with no issue so its not very likely that its the cable and I can charge my phone with different cables with no issue so its unlikely to be the port.

The cable is brand new and the phone is a couple months old with no water or drop damage.Visually the port does not seem to be damaged in any way.
If anyone has some sort of idea as to what the issue might be I would greatly appreciate it.
