So as you may know, i own a Dell XPS M1710. I replaced the motherboard and gpu and, the artifacts are back. Is there a way to permanently fix the issue? I am aware that this is an obsolete laptop but I can't dare to throw it away as i got it for my 12th birthday

Make sure to quote me @Meowster  so that I see your reply

I love my job, being a sysadmin. It's very fun

No, we literally don't know.

Could you explain exactly what the problem is?

When the son of the deposed king of Nigeria emails you directly, asking for help, you help! His father ran the freaking country! Ok?

Without knowing the problems we can't really suggest things to fix. It's also a (more than a) decade old machine. I'd hazard a guess that it's just on its way out.

As much as I can understand sentimental value, any money at this point is probably better put towards a new machine.

Whenever you boot into the OS or BIOS, there is a green flicker on the screen, it goes away when you apply pressure to the right palmrest

Does the system still boot? If it does, then there shouldn't be much to worry about, might just be a bad screen.

Yeah, still works fine. When I hooked up an external monitor, the green artifacts appear on it too.
