I've got a few old 8-core MacPros kicking around. They're all 2008 model 3,1 machines (2 x 4 core Xeon @ 2.8ghz, 32GB). Would it be worth the time and effort to pull them out of storage and put them to work? The graphics cards will be useful for nothing, but the CPUs should still be useful for something.

I realize they are getting on 12 years old and waaaaay out of date, but they still run fine and are just sitting around. Would they still be relevant to use for folding?

Yes, they are plenty decent, CPU wise for folding - every bit helps.

However, I read that Rosetta@home is much than for CPUs, and Folding@home is better for GPUs.

When the son of the deposed king of Nigeria emails you directly, asking for help, you help! His father ran the freaking country! Ok?
