SO i have a old projecter and im trying to get it running for my dad, i have it convinced it has a lamp and using my tac light for my rifle i was able to confirm all is running normal as it should, now i am Looking to make a new lightsource for it. i have found a 30watt LED and Driver, both of which will fit internally in the positions that the old ballast and lamp sat. but i need a heatsink. I have uploaded pictures with the dimensions,

2 inch x 2 inch x 2.5 inch.

Rough Translation

50mm x 50mm x 60mm

now i have found some northbridge and ram heatsinks that would fit but at only 10mm tall it seems to me like it would get overheated fast. it will have air flowing through it provided by the fans already in the projector, any heat sinks that you guys have seen that would fit?

Thanks Guys, Dragon "Fullmetal" 1212

a aio watercooler maybe? a small heasink might not be enough

don t forget leds require lots of cooling compared to the power they use since they re isolants so the temp inside could melt the electronics while the outside would reach only 40c. (think cpu with extremely bad tim under the heatspreader)

Anything I write is just a comment, take is as such, there is no guarantees associated with anything I say.

Yea that wouldn;t work for this unit then. my tac flashlight, a Hugsby P2 produces a watchable, albeit dark image, but we tried my cars HID headlamp in the projectors factory housing and the light is so thrown around it barely produces a image at the front of the projector.

Hugsby P2 Tac Light - 190 lumens

H1 HID Kit - Approx 3200 Lumens?

in the housing the light from the HID it directs forward is enough to light up the other side of a field out here, but the second its in the projector I can look in the lens backward and then i can see it. my tac light you'd damage your eyes doing the same.,.. what the ?

Thanks Guys! Fullmetal
