The store that built my pc, made a daisy chain connection from my psu. Basically, the cable that goes out from the psu to the gpu, has a 6 pin pcie connector and then there's another cable that goes out directly from the 6 pin's head and goes to an 8 pin one. They probably used this method because I have a gigabyte 1070 g1 gaming that requires only one 8 pcie connector. My questions is: Can I just purchase a new 6 + 8 pcie gpu and connect the cable as it is or this would cause any damage?

I'm interested in this specific card which requires 6 + 8: https://www.newegg.com/msi-geforce-rtx-2070-rtx-2070-tri-frozr/p/N82E16814137490?Description=rtx 2070&cm_re=rtx_2070-_-14-137-490-_-Product&quicklink=true

Yes, you can plug it in that way. Hopefully your PSU is good though, what specific model to you have?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

the specs would only tell me if it was bad, not necessarily if it was good. It might have enough current on the 12V, and it might have a decent efficiency rating, but it could still have a lot of other problems that we don't know about.

@LukeSavenije have you heard about this unit? (if the PSU above is a specific unit)
