Blue LED strips

Go to solution Solved by Swegly,

Get the NZXT Hue. As cheap as a single colored (one thats actually decent) LED strip except it has RGB LEDs and there are different modes such as breathing and pulsating.

Hey guys I'm looking for some blue LED strips to mod my Cooler Master Elite 350 with. Does anybody know where I can get some for a low price, preferably in Canada. I will be willing to order from the US if the shipping is not too expensive though.

I'm not really sure how they would work. Do I need to connect them directly to the power supply? Or do they come with something that I can use to make them work. I will be mounting them on the outside of the case because I don't have a full side panel window on my case.

Sounds cool but how do they work?

Its a 5.25 inch box that you put in your drive bays and it has nobs on the front that you can adjust the color and mode of your LEDs. I have an NZXT Hue and I love it.

Sounds great thanks a lot.

No problem! You can click on my profile and look at the pictures I have of my PC. That is my NZXT Hue installed.

Sounds great thanks a lot.

Also, the adhesive preapplied to them isnt the best so Id recommend getting some double sided tape to stick it down with.

Okay but how would I mount the LEDs on the outside of my case? If it's one long strip I don't know how I would do this.

Well there are places where you can cut the strip to make it shorter without damaging the LEDs but now that I think about it. It might be kind of weird having the NZXT Hue in your drive bay because I cant think of a way for you to route the cables to the outside of the case when they are meant to be led inside. Maybe get something like this? http://www.amazon.com/LEDwholesalers-Controller-2034RGB-3315-3215/dp/B0040FJ27S/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1392582099&sr=8-2&keywords=LED+RGB

If you want to have the leds outside. Wich won't look super amazing I think.. well you have to mod the case so that the led strip can get out of the case. Since the HUE is inside your 5.25" bay drive with the cables as well inside.

NZXT Phantom windowed, Asus Z77 Sabertooth, Intel 2600K, Noctua NH-D14, EVGA 780 Classified, Crucial Ballistic Tactical, Crucial M4 128GB + Samsung 850 EVO, Corsair RM850, Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty Peripherals: Sennheiser HD598, FinalMouse Classic, SteelSeries Qck Heavy, Ducky Shine Zero (MX Brown), AOC G2460PF & Qnix QX2710

Yeah but if the LED is one long strip wouldn't that be impossible? Are there any alternatives to this for modding your case from the outside?
