If you could let me which would be a preference and why and If you think another board would be preferential to these please do tell and why.

1. ASUS Z87-PRO

Well, it mostly depends upon your build. All of those boards are great and have a lot of features, but some may be more adapted to your situation. For example, if you enjoy audio and gaming you might want to go with the ROG board because it has amazing onboard sound not to mention a well-done color scheme. The pro might go better with workstations, while the sabertooth is more expensive, so you might as well go with one of the two cheaper options. I personally would go for the ROG board but this is from a gamer's perspective.

well all those boards are good and all but I still advice you to grab whichever one has the features you need.

If those 3 has so many features you won't be using right now then just trash those 3 and look for others which has the features you will need this might shave off a few bucks.

But if you like to go with the best just grab the motherboard with the highest price tag and with a lot of features and be golden.

After reading your advice in regards to what features are most important to me as well as researching these boards further, I was able to make my choice which will be the ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO. Thank you very much as I am one step closer to deciding what my build will be. I do have another few questions pertaining to what would be the optimal ram for the cpu/mobo combo, which is a 4770k and hero.

I can't decide if i should go with vengance pro or trident x ram.

Also is liquid cooling with a H100i idea?

and finally will these components fit properly in a Fractal design R4

This will be my first build and I'm and excited and nervous at the same time. I've been watching a bit of Linus on youtube recently and I think he's great and so far the community on this website has been great. So any continued input is much appreciated
