So I have an r5 3600 which I dont OC and mostly game on it, so it is not stressed that much. I have a thermaltake core p3 open case and thats why i care a lot about noise. I dont use the stock cooler because it makes a motory noise on every rpm. I had a cryorig c7 and i placed it which is very silent (after some tweaking) on idle and lite browsing but it revs pretty high on load and is not enough to PBO. Also aida64 goes over 85°C.

In other words its enough, but not comfortable and I plan on buying a new

BUT;

  • The case is meant for liquid cool and has an empty space otherwise
  • A block of metal in a sleek open case is kind of.. off

So I think of spending a bit extra for an AIO but I am concerned of the noise

Most importantly, the floor noise.

I have never owned an AIO but I ve heard that pumps add noise you cant avoid, even with low rpm fans. I mostly care about idle and low load noise cause otherwise I use headphones.

So Im asking, can cheap AIOs be as quiet as an air cooler (or at least very very quiet) on low loads?
