MS Access data recovery

HI there, I was wondering if anyone knew if there was any way to recover data from an access database after it has become corrupted.

 

A quick overview is that a friend of mine uses access for his business, however last week he opened the database there was a large amount of data missing. 2 Versions of access were used to open the database and from what i understand its after the newer version of access was used that the data was lost. Also the .LDB file remained in file explorer even after saving and closing the database. I have tried to repair and compact the database and he has tried to use an access recovery software tool but no luck on either. Also there are no backups either, he thought that his pc was being backed up every day but it wasnt even set.
