dual pc recording Dual system recording setup

So I'm looking at this for a future setup. My goal is to have one rig that does the recording part and I edit videos on. The other would be what I do everything else on. Game, watch movies/videos etc. My question is which rig do which programs need to be on? OBS, discord, other programs that would be in use during gameplay and recording. And what kind of hardware (I know I need at least a capture card) am I looking at needing?

 

Hopefully my question makes sense. Thanks in advance for the tips. And any tricks would be greatly appreciated.

You actually don't need a capture card. If you have both computers on the same LAN. OBS has plugin called NDI. This will allow the gameplay and audio from one device to be captured on another device.
