Just put in a msi z390 ace with i7-9700k. In the bios is hard drive boot is set to ACHI it will blue screen and say machine check exception and will freeze when preparing for automatic repair. If i switch hard drive boot to raid it blue screens to inaccessible boot drive. I have confirmed that the ssd does boot windows and works correctly on a separate pc. I have also changed out ram to eliminate that being a possibility. Im not sure what to check from this point. I have triple checked everything is plugged in correctly. Any help would be very appreciated. I have also thought about it being a power supply compatibility issue but couldn't really find any information on that. Thanks in advance

Put the OS drive onto the other PC that runs windows.

Go into windows and remove all motherboard and cpu drivers.

Other things you can try, on post Hit F8 and disable driver enforcement after you've done the above.

All else fails, New Operating system. Remove your wanted files first.

(edit) seems I got the wrong end of the stick and windows is at least trying to boot. Probably your best bet is a fresh install

Recently I built my new PC and had a similar issue, probably wont help you but I had to change my boot mode in the BIOS to UEFI + Legacy mode. I have an ASUS board but there is likely a similar setting in your BIOS that maybe you can try?

Ya i tried that. It will only register my OS drive when it is set to UEFI+ Legacy mode
