X570 Memory Timing Issue

Go to solution Solved by boggy77,

you need to disable gear down mode to allow ryzen to work with odd timings. it should be in the manual settings of the timings

Question: I recently purchased a bunch of new parts for a Ryzen build. Specifically, I bought an Asus X570 TUF Plus, and a kit of G-Skill Trident Z 2x8GB 3600 CL15 mem. My goal with this memory was to attempt to run it with as tight timings as possible...but I've run into a small issue: I can't get the CAS setting down to 15. No matter how I set it, through DOCP or manually, it ends up being set as CAS 16. This is reflected in both the BIOS and CPU Z within Win 10.

Did I screw up somewhere when picking parts? All of the rest of the timings seem to be correct and fit the rest of the XMP profile on the mem. For reference, here are links to the parts I bought:

Thanks for the help!
