I changed my windows bootup sound to something. In short i want it to play through my speakers on bootup but for some reason it plays through my headphones.

headphones are wireless but connected through receiving USB wifi adapter thingy. Speakers are wireless fully via Bluetooth.

Any idea on how to force windows to play bootup noise through speakers?

Edit: it only goes through the speakers if the headset is disabled in "sounds" menu

I am not 100% sure but I think windows simply plays it over the device last used. However I can imagine that the bluetooth stuf is not loaded/operational and connected to your speakers when the startup sound is being played. However the "receiver thingy" is simply connected as a USB sound device and therefore initialized earlier and therefore ready to play when its time for the startup sound.

I conclusion I think it will at least be pretty hard to get that working over BT

I had a feeling that it was an issue but the bluelight that means "connected" pops up i think with enough time before the sound is played. there could be the preference of what it wasnts to play through but im not giving up hope just yet

I think you can try this.

Open Settings -> system -> Sound, then scroll down until you see sound control panel. Click on the text. (alternatively, go to Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound, and click Sound)

At the window, highlight your output device, then click on the Set default button.

Hope this helps.

Yeha thats the right way to choose the default audio device with wich win will also boot and try to play the sound. But I dont think that changes the issue about the connection not being established and the BT stuf established in time to play the start chime.
