Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super - Crashing

DaMainMan

Hello everyone,

santa brought me a fresh new Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super, but unfortunately, it crashes every game and even windows sometimes.

- Initially the card would let me play CoD MW for around 45mins without any problems. Today I played for 20mins before the game crashed and windows shortly thereafter. After this incident, all games crash before I can actually start playing.

- Windows gives me a "IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL" error when it crashes, which hints towards driver problems. I have re-installed drivers a couple times and uninstalled the old ones.

- On the first driver-reinstall, Nvidia experience would not recognize the card initially ("No compatible hardware recognized"). It took 2 restarts to remidy this.

I have found many posts and articles concerning crashing issues with the 20xx line, but have not found any real solutions yet -> everyone seems to just say: "RMA it".

Is that really the only way to go?

Thanks in advance!

When on the download Nvidia site, there are 2 drivers.

Geforce game ready driver and Nvidia studio driver.

Make sure to download and install the Geforce game ready driver.

Checked that -> I tried downloading it via GeForce experience and the website with no success with either unfortunately.

Well the rest of my system seems to go completely haywire now too. CPU temps are through the roof all of the sudden (hitting 100C in Rocketleague?? - the only game that seems to be working btw.) and now Steam gives me an error message on startup that the installation is corrupt...

What the hell is going on?

Specs are:

- 6700k with Corsair H110 AIO Cooler - never had any cooling problems before.

- Above mentioned Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super

- 16gig DDR4 Ram
