I am building a home server I pretty much know the hardware I will be buying. The quandary I have is what is the proper software to run? I want to do all the usual stuff that a home server will do, I also want to use it as a personal cloud for me and the wife. Plus to use it across multiple devices IOS,Windows, and Android. Will a basic software from Microsoft be sufficient? Or do I have to open the wallet, budget is not the issue I just don't want to over kill,

The only thing fair in life is between first and third.
