I already know why would I run wifi for gaming.

 

That said which card has been being used with the best results please and TIA

Wireless performance is completely dependent on your setup/router, distance, interference, congestion, number of devices, etc. and there is no "one best" answer.

I run the ROG AX11000 router, distance is about 20 ft, 1 wall.

 

I have seen some reviews of ones getting hot and shutting down, some not near as fast as others etc.

ok cool, so with that router I have a dedicated 50x50 line. In your opinion, will I ever hit the ax speed or is the cheaper way all good?

Yah, at 50x50 then no need for AX. Just stick with cheaper AC stuff.

You seem to be forgetting that the benefit of AX is that once your neighbours have upgraded too, you will no longer be treading on each other toes for spectrum.

 

Even with 50x50, if your neighbours are hammering their WiFi, yours can slow down dramatically.

 

I believe even before that, latency is meant to be better on AX and its not like they are much more expensive than AC.
