Corsair RGB Mouse USB Not Recognized

jettsunshine
i'm using a corsair rgb and my computer just stopped recognizing the usb dongle that i use. it was working fine last night, but now it's not even recognizing that it's plugged in; as in, i don't even get the sound that's supposed to happen when you plug in a USB. i've seen some forums where people say that they got a "USB Device Not Recognized" notification upon plugging it in, but that's not what's happening here. i tried a USB stick and it recognized that, but not my mouse's USB. it also recognizes when i use the USB cord but like...the whole point of this mouse is that i don't need the cord lmfao...
i've already tried restarting my computer and trying different USB ports. the cord and USB stick are recognized in all ports, but the USB dongle is not.

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.

i'd rather not return if i can avoid it. fortunately the bluetooth (as in pairing, not usb-based) works, and that's good enough for me for now.
