Software or hardware raid for large volume

I just built a system and am stuffing six 10TB drives in it purely for bulk storage of backups. I have a NAS with 40TB in it as well so it could end up being a backup of a backup? Or not. The question is, should I use the Win 10 shared drive dealy to do a RAID or should I grab a raid card to do hardware raid instead? And what RAID level is suggested?
