combining 2 partitions help

I just installed 8tb hdd and when i go to disk management:

when i first opened it, both were unallocated of course. i did "new simple volume" on the 2tb partition, but i want to combine it with the 5tb partition

Is there anything already on the 2TB partition? When you initialized the drive why didn't you just initialize it at the full size if you didn't need it partitioned?

nothings on it. they were both unallocated when i turned pc on

both are unallocated now. when i right click the 5 tb part, everything is greyed out it wont let me make a new volume. it will only let me make volume on the 2tb part

That's what I figured, MBR only supports up to 2TB partitions, glad you got it figured out.
