How Much Performance Will I Lose?

Go to solution Solved by Bombastinator,

There are several tests on YouTube on this subject.  Below 3000mhz was quite bad. The jump between 3000 and 3200 was pretty significant.  They tested up to 3600 and the difference between 3200 and 3600 was about the same size on the graph as between 3000 and 3200.

Hey, I'm upgrading my system with a new CPU and motherboard, from an Intel i5 6600k to an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X and I just bought the Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3200 memory sticks. I was wondering if I should return them and buy the DDR4 3600 instead to get better performance and does anyone know if there is a big difference?

System Specs

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X

ASUS ROG Strix x570-E

EVGA CLC 360mm

Corsair DDR4 3200mhz 32gigs

Nvidia 980Ti 2x

EVGA 1000 watt power supply

Samsung 512 M.2 2x

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.
