In a similar boat looking for black Friday deals.

Looking for a lap top for a 9 and 10 year old some some light gaming.

Best buy has the Asus Viviobook 15.6 at 399.99

https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/flyer?type=1&locale=en&auto_locate=true&flyer_run_id=519014?icmp=seo_blackfriday_flyerpreview

Walmart has the Acer Aspire 5 at 399.99

https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/acer-aspire-5-156-laptop-intel-core-i3-6006u-a515-51-36uh-black/6000197842906

I don't know how to compare these 2.

And I have no idea about the amazon deals

https://www.amazon.ca/deal/6b0fb86d/ref=gbps_img_m-5_bdaa_6b0fb86d?moreDeals=012a06a2,a148bfed&showVariations=true&BFDay=true&smid=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB&pf_rd_p=2c592d9f-7160-43ea-a27e-b7cb157dbdaa&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-5&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_i=6054205011&pf_rd_m=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB&pf_rd_r=MS8BFNFSWP394N5WCV8Z

Though a stellar deal at $300 may tempt me to buy 2 (i have 2 boys 9 and 10)

Any deals or advice is welcome. I have no idea what i'm looking for and comparing products is confusing. For this $300-$400 price point what is the best deal?

I will note both these appear to me the op requirements.

A helpfull user on discord suggested that this is the lowest end that would run minecraft. I assuem these would run them on min settings. long as it runs i'm happy.

Also suggested these 2.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/333399653222?ul_noapp=true

and

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QKWTZ4B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_u1a4Db308NY85

I still struggle on how to compare the units.

Min requirments for minecraft

Minimum Requirements:

  • CPU: Intel Core i3-3210 3.2 GHz / AMD A8-7600 APU 3.1 GHz or equivalent

  • RAM: 4GB

  • GPU (Integrated): Intel HD Graphics 4000 (Ivy Bridge) or AMD Radeon R5 series (Kaveri line) with OpenGL 4.4*

  • GPU (Discrete): Nvidia GeForce 400 Series or AMD Radeon HD 7000 series with OpenGL 4.

but most processors on even more expensive units are less than 3.1ghz...i'm very confused.
