Hello,

Current PC Specs:

OS Drive: 250GB Samsung EVO 850 SSD - I have more storage than this it's just not important to the problem

CPU: 8700K - Overclock to 4.9Ghz

MoBo: Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 7

GPU: Galax GTX 1080 Sniper Edition

RAM: Gskill 32GB at 2400Mhz

Recently I've been having a problem on my computer where having applications open combined with Destiny 2 or Rainbow Six Siege will cause my computer to have very laggy mouse movements. It has a delay and whips around the screen not following my mouse movements 1 to 1. I have found that turning ShadowPlay off helps a fair bit but even then if I need to turn around really fast or there is a lot happening on screen it can sometimes still have issues causing the mouse to feel slow and whip past whatever I was trying to hit. Closing chrome seems to help but at that point of closing things what's the point I'm meant to have a high end PC that can multitask without having to close things. I have also noticed that when it does these strange sluggish mouse movements that the FPS dips a fair bit. This is also along with the fact that it's not running at what I would consider to be a normal frame-rate either. Before this started happening I would be running at 140+ FPS in Destiny 2 now it's sitting anywhere from just above 60 in the dips to 100 FPS at the highest with it normally resting around 80 to 90 during "normal" gameplay. I would really like to avoid reinstalling my OS as I wouldn't be able to be sure that I saved everything and if I used the windows backup feature I would be worried that the problem could follow over to the new install anyway without wiping the drive. Is there some way I can test to see if it's really my CPU and not my windows install? Would it be fine to install a different motherboard and CPU and just install the drivers for that on my current OS drive? I know that installing lots of drivers on an OS can cause problems. Not to mention that it would be going from an intel CPU and MoBo to a AMD Ryzen CPU and MoBo.

As a strange obvseration I recently bought the new CoD Modern Warfare and none of this seems to be a problem. I can have chrome and shadowplay on while playing just fine which doesn't make any sense since its a new title.

As I said before I have another motherboard and CPU, A Ryzen CPU and MoBo that has its own SSD with a windows install that I was thinking of using and just copying over what I need but things like itunes, and powershell with php and other apps that I have set up aren't just a simple copy and paste.

Ryzen Specs:

OS Drive: 500GB Samsung 860 EVO SSD - I bought this system recently which is why it has a better SSD than my main rig

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X

MoBo: Gigabyte X470 AORUS Gaming 5 WiFi

GPU: Galax GTX 1080 Sniper Edition - I take it out of my main system normally

RAM: Gskill 32GB at 2400Mhz - Same with ram

If you have any tests or ways to help me identify what the problem is I'm all ears. I would like to avoid reinstalling windows but if it comes to that I'll have to spend days making sure I get everything and save all my application settings.

I'm happy to post some unlisted videos on YouTube if you would like to see what the problem looks like in action.

Cheers for any help
