Looking to upgrade within the next month or so. Main uses are PC gaming and Light to medium content creation (Digital Artwork and photo editing). In quite a few heavier games, the CPU is bottlenecking my 2060.

Current build:

i5-6600k@4.6ghz (liquid metal)

H115i Cooler

Asus Z270 TUF Mark II

MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z

16GB Crucial Ballistix DDR4-2400

650W Seasonic PSU (don't remember exact model)

NZXT H440 white case

Samsung 960 EVO NVMe 250GB + Samsung 860 EVO SATA + 3TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm HDD

primary monitor: Dell S2719DGF (Currently run this at between 85-120hz)

secondary monitor: BenQ GW2765HT (Use this for most content creation)

I'm looking to move back to air cooling for the new build. I'm planning on recycling everything except the new parts listed. I'm using crappy RGB strips set to white to match my case, which I like. But the RGB strips are shite. Since the new system will be addressable, If anyone has some recommendations for RGBW strips, that would be great (would set them to white) I may also upgrade the video card at a later time and keep my 2060 for a bit longer. Haven't decided yet.

Anything seem out of place or have some recommendations for something better. I'd like to keep the budget max 1400 (before tax) (with the video card) (or around 850 without card) I live in DFW, Tx so most Amazon items will have tax added. I'm considering heading to Microcenter for the bundle deals (CPU and board get 30$ discount when bought together) which add up to less than PCPP pricing. Thanks in advance!

Since you are just mostly gaming, why not go for a AMD Ryzen 3600/3600X instead and save up a few bucks?

Good point. One thing I didn't mention is I occasionally stream while doing artwork to Picarto using OBS. Would the extra 2c/4t be worth it? I also don't need the RGB RAM. Just kinda stuck it there lol

More cores will definitely help in streaming, but the 3600 is very capable.

We'll if you don't mind spending the extra $$$ for bling bling RGB why not? Lol.

Anyway, here's what I suggest (minus the RGB stuff):

Same for other brands imho. They all have their faults and issues, but MSI's Tomahawk has one of the best VRMs for it's pricepoint.
