laptops for kids

Hello

 

i am looking for a couple good solid laptops for some of my kids

to be able to take to school

 

not a large budget   300-1000  cad

could be used

  dont need  crazy specs

would like something win 7 era 

64 bit perhaps

office  photoshop  not intensive editing

maybe some gaming   not  the bleeding edge  not a priority  they dont game much

something with 15 ish screen  could be bigger could be smaller

not super heavy   fair to good battery life

can take some abuse

 

any  ideas would be great

me and the kids have built a pile of desktops that reside behind our pfsense setup

stripped down win7 boxes on older gear that runs quit snappy 

but as far as laptops go we  have  few older toughbooks and

lenovo thinkbooks  but there  all to big and bulky  and a bit dated

actually the latest episode  about the tech hoarder looks familiar

some quick search, i bet you could do better but i believe something in those lines should be enough for kids... not sure though about the CAD  $ to USD $ xDDD
