Hello!

So I'm trying to figure out what kind of storage device to use for a new computer I'm setting up.

This computer will only ever do one thing and that's run a program that's displaying a surveillance video feed 24/7 365.

Was thinking of getting WD Purple. But at the same time it feels overkill since the HDD will mostly idle anyways. So maybe going to a M.2 or SATA SSD will be sufficient?

I'd appreciate any input I can get on this!

If the computer is just for displaying/streaming video from somewhere, a small SATA SSD is fine. If you are looking to store the video, then WD Purples are the way to go.

Yeah it's just going to display a video steam so that was what I was thinking, thanks for the confirmation!
