Gpu defective?

Go to solution Solved by Skiiwee29,

Doubt the issue is your GPU. From the sounds of it, its a problem with the XMP settings of your Ram.. with 1st and 2nd gen Ryzen, the out of the box SOC voltages were usually on the low side and caused issues as a result. Manually set your SOC voltage to something like 1.15v. You are safe up to 1.2v for 24/7 operations on the SOC.

Hey guys. I hope you are all good.

I need opinions about a problem I'm having with my pc.

So, for the past month or so, I was having random shutdowns with kernel power erros (41 (63)), and after alot of troubleshoot I find out the memory I had was full of erros. Altough it was confusing because sometimes memtest passed without any erros and some with 3; 12; and the last one I did with over 10k erros. So I contacted corsair and send the memory back. Now I have another kit wich I bough while corsair doesn't send a replacement. But the error still persist. At random occasions. Te pc still freezes at random occasions, and at restart I dont get any signal in monitor. And the mobo GPU light stays on. For twice now I was able to kinda fix this temporarily by reseating the gpu, after that It worked. While that happend I also tried to put it in the second PCI slot, but it was the same. I bought another gpu to test as I think it will probably because of gpu. What do you guys think?

Here are my specs btw:

 gigabyte aorus x370 gaming k5

ryzen 2600x / artic cooler esports

 sapphire rx 580 8gb

 seasonic s12ii 520w

samsung 850 evo 250gb and 2tb barracuda drive

Thanks in adavanced!

Then why is the mobo with the gpu light on after it happends?

Right now the ram is at stock voltages @3000mhz. It works at 1.35v and 3200mhz no problem. I never messed with the timings.

The ram I had before was at 3066 at stock too. Either of those don't work with xmp on. It would BSOD.

The one I have now doesnt boot to windows with xmp on.

Btw I have the corsair vengeance rgb pro now and before I had the corsair vengeance led, both at same speeds.

I have this cpu since june and it worked fine untill about a month ago, so why start now? I din't made any change..also using the ryzen power plan.

ok, so you have it manually set at 3000mhz then? Voltages at 1.2v is to low, you need to set the voltage of your DRAM to 1.35v. Easiest thing to do is enable the X.M.P. profile as that will set everything correctly for you. Then go into your voltages and you will see an SOC voltage, you should be able to manually set that.
